CANVAS/S

PROGRAMME IDENTITY

We worked together with the National Library Board to design the programme identity and pop-up spaces for its inaugural event (2017) – CANVAS/S.

CANVAS/S is a pop-up installation series curated by the National Library Board for the public to learn about an art form. Each installation of CANVAS/S features one art form, proudly helmed by a local artist or collective.

The programme title CANVAS/S is a wordplay between the words “canvas” (ie. blank canvas), and “canvass” (ie. to bring together). The visual identity – made up of two blank canvases that overlap – symbolises the gathering of the artists, their crafts

The visual identity – made up of two blank canvases that overlap – symbolises the gathering of the artists, their crafts, and the public. The minimal logo serves as a vessel to connect and to highlight the various characteristics of the different art-forms.

Each pop-up exhibition was designed to allow the public to experience an art-form through exploring an artist’s space and experimenting with the tools and processes through workshops led by the artists.
